YAMAHA DS2416 Driver Disk for Windows NT (File Set V1.11)

YAMAHA DS2416 Driver for Windows NT is an audio driver for
the DS2416 card when installed in a Windows NT system.

(1) License Agreement
PLEASE READ THIS DOCUMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE USING ANY SOFTWARE ON THIS
MEDIA. THIS AGREEMENT LICENSES THE SOFTWARE TO YOU. BY USING THE SOFT-
WARE, YOU ARE CONFIRMING YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THE SOFTWARE AND AGREEING
TO BECOME BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO
DO SO, PROMPTLY RETURN THE ENTIRE PACKAGE, INCLUDING THIS MEDIA, TO
THE PLACE WHERE YOU OBTAINED IT, FOR A FULL REFUND.
1.Definitions.
(a)"YAMAHA Software" means the software program and driver program in-
cluded in the DS2416 package, and all related updates supplied by
YAMAHA.
(b) "YAMAHA Hardware" means the DS2416 digital mixing card and a con-
nection cable.
(c) "YAMAHA Product" means the YAMAHA Software, the YAMAHA Hardware,the
related documentation, and all related updates supplied by YAMAHA.
2.License.
This agreement allows you, the purchaser, to use the YAMAHA Software
in conjunction with the YAMAHA Hardware.
3. Restrictions.
You may not decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or otherwaise
reduce the YAMAHA Software to a human-perceivable form, except to the
limited extent expressly permitted by applicable law. You may not mod-
ify, rent, resell for profit, distribute or create derivative works
based upon the YAMAHA Software or any part thereof. You may not export
or reexport, directly or indirectly, the YAMAHA Product into any coun-
try prohibited by the United States Export Administration Act and the
regulations thereunder.
4.Ownership.
The foregoing license gives you limited rights to use the YAMAHA Soft-
ware. Although you own the media on which the YAMAHA Software is re-
corded, you do not become the owner of, and YAMAHA retains title to,the
YAMAHA Software and all copies thereof. All rights not specifically
granted in this agreement, including Federal and International Copy-
rights, are reserved by YAMAHA.
5. Disclaimer Of Warranty.
The YAMAHA Software may contain errors that could cause failures or
loss of data, and may be incomplete or contain inaccuracies. You ex-
pressly acknowledge and agree that use of the YAMAHA Software is at
your sole risk. The YAMAHA Software is provided "AS IS" and without
warranty of any kind and YAMAHA EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES,EX-
PRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES
OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. YAMAHA DOES
NOT WARRANT THAT THE FUNCTIONS CONTAINED IN THE YAMAHA SOFTWARE WILL
MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, OR THAT THE OPERATION OF THE YAMAHA SOFTWARE
WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DEFECTS IN THE YAMAHA
SOFTWARE WILL BE CORRECTED. FURTHERMORE, YAMAHA DOES NOT WARRANT OR
MAKE ANY REPRESENTATIONS REGARDING THE USE OR THE RESULTS OF THE USE
OF THE YAMAHA SOFTWARE OR IN TERMS OF THEIR CORRECTNESS, ACCURACY,
RELIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE.
6. Term.
This agreement is effective until terminated. You may terminate it at
any time by destroying the YAMAHA Software together with all copies in
any form. It will also terminate if you fail to comply with any term
or condition in this agreemant.

(2) System environment
An IBM PC or compatible computer which has PCI buses that runs
Windows NT.
Recommend the one after WindowsNT 4.0 + Service Pack 3.
Dual CPU is not supported with this NT driver.
This NT driver has not supported MIDI function.
-MIDI data error may happen when using with SW1000XG.

(3) Driver installation
I) Displaying the file
1. Select the Windows [View] menu, then [Folder Options].
The Option window opens.
2. Select [View tab].
3. Check the [View all files] checkbox.
4. Press the [OK] button and close the Option window.
II) Driver installation
1. Select [Start] menu, [Settings], then [Control Panel].
2. Open [Multimedia] in the Control Panel.
3. Select the [Devices] tab.
4. Select the [Audio Devices] and click the [Add...] button.
5. Select [Unlisted or Updated Driver] and click the [OK] button.
6. Insert the [YAMAHA DS2416 Driver Disk for WindowsNT] disk into the
A drive, and enter"A:\" in the drive field, and click the [OK] button
7. Select [YAMAHA DS2416,SW1000 Driver] and click the [OK] button.
8. Restart the computer.
9. Insert the [YAMAHA DS2416 Driver Disk for WindowsNT] disk into the
A drive, and start the Setup file, and follow the install guide
* You need to check [I agree to and accept...] in the License
Agreement window to proceed.
10. Restart the computer.
11. Start DS2416ck to check if the card and driver have been installed
correctly.
12. Now the driver has been installed.
The version of driver can be confirmed with property of each file.
Audio driver (ydspf.sys) C:\WINNT\System32\drivers\ydspf.sys
(ydspf.dll) C:\WINNT\System32\ydspf.dll
Mixer driver (ymix2416.dll) C:\WINNT\System32\ymix2416.dll
(4) Driver uninstallation
I) uninstallation of Mixer driver
1. Select [Start] menu, [program] [DSPFactory], then Remove DSPFactory,
and uninstall in accordance with the directions of the screen.
II) uninstallation of Audio driver
1. Select [Start] menu, [Settings], then [Control Panel].
2. Open [Multimedia] in the Control Panel.
3. Select the [Device] tab.
4. Select the [Audio Devices of YAMAHA DS2416,SW1000 Driver] in the
[Audio Devices] and click the [Remove] button.
5. Restart the computer.
(5) Driver update
1. Get new drivers with web download.
2. Uninstall all drivers with the process of (4).
3. Install new drivers with the process of (3).
