Dante-MY16-AUD Firmware V3.4.0 (Previous version)

Important Notice

  • Please do not use the EEE function (*) of network switches in a Dante network.
Although power management should be negotiated automatically in switches that support EEE, some switches do not perform the negotiation properly. This may cause EEE to be enabled in Dante networks when it is not appropriate, resulting in poor synchronization performance and occasional dropouts.
    Therefore we strongly recommend that:
  • 1. If you use managed switches, ensure that they allow EEE to be disabled. Make sure that EEE is disabled on all ports used for real-time Dante traffic.
    2. If you use unmanaged switches, make sure to not use network switches that support the EEE function, since EEE operation cannot be disabled in these switches.
    * EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) is a technology that reduces switch power consumption during periods of low network traffic. It is also known as Green Ethernet and IEEE802.3az.

  • Dante products for Yamaha mixers and processors have a built-in Dante module, and its firmware needs to be updated accordingly.
  • When Dante-MY16-AUD 3.3.9 or lator is used in conjunction with CL series, please update the CL/Rio firmware to V1.11 or later.
  • When Dante-MY16-AUD is used in conjunction with CL series, please update the Dante-MY16-AUD firmware to V3.3.9 or later.

New Feature

  • Static IP address support. The Dante-MY16-AUD can be assigned static IP addresses (for primary and secondary network interfaces) via Dante Controller.
  • Clear Config replaces Factory Reset. Clear Config wipes the same settings as the original factory reset function, but allows you to optionally keep the IP settings.

Refer to the Dante Controller User Guide for more information.

This release fixes following issues.

  • Clock synchronization between Dante-MY16-AUD and Yamaha devices could sometimes fail and audio dropouts occur when many Dante devices are connected or huge multicast traffic is used.
Firmware v3.4.0 improves Dante clock synchronization performance and solves the above problem.
  • HA Remote communication issues could occur on Yamaha LS9 consoles with installed Dante-MY16-AUD cards set to HA Remote modes "All" or "Slot ↔ DB9".
  • Dante-MY16-AUD cards in Yamaha CL consoles would sometimes fail to lock with an external Word Clock.
  • Under certain conditions, the Dante-MY16-AUD card could fail to respond to latency changes.
  • Latency changes at transmitting devices could sometimes result in missing audio at a receiving Dante-MY16-AUD device.
