Tasteful TF3 For PizzaExpress Live

Jul, 2017

Yamaha’s TF series digital mixing consoles have become a fixture of many installed audio systems, taking up very little space yet offering high end mixing and audio processing. A new PizzaExpress Live restaurant in London is one of the latest high end projects to harness these advantages.

Located throughout England, plus one in Scotland, more than 20 PizzaExpress Live restaurants now host regular music, collectively presenting over 2000 shows annually. The brainchild of the chain’s founder Peter Boizot, artists have included such household names as Amy Winehouse, Bill Wyman, Jamie Cullum, Brian May, Rick Wakeman, Van Morrison and many more.

The latest venue is at 99 High Holborn in London, less than a mile from the flagship PizzaExpress Live in Dean Street, at the heart of fashionable Soho. It’s the fifth of these venues to feature a permanently-installed audio system, which was designed and installed by Autograph Sales & Installations.

The 130-cover room is designed to be truly multi-purpose, allowing it to host corporate gatherings, comedy and celebrity events as well as live music. Autograph’s Adam Broom chose a distributed system, which includes a Yamaha TF3 digital console to deliver the necessary mixing quality and flexibility in a compact, very cost-effective format.

The TF3 is fitted with an NY64-D Dante interface card and networked to two Tio1608-D i/o units, providing 32 system inputs from the stage. The Tio units also handle the main system outputs.

“Following the installation at our Dean St location, we knew that Autograph would do whatever it took to make this new venue as good as it can be,” says PizzaExpress Music Manager Ross Dines.

“We went through the process of evaluating other products, but once Adam had run a demo for us it was clear that his design would play a critical role in delivering the quality of customer experience that is at the heart of the PizzaExpress Live concept.”
