ACU/NHB Firmware V1.11 & CobraNet(CM-1) Firmware V2.9.16 for Win

Important Notice

Corresponding to Low Latency

  • Though the recently released V1.11 firmware for ACU16-C and NHB32-C supports the low latency modes of CobraNet, it may be the case that these low latency modes cannot be used due to an old version of the CobraNet module being installed in the ACU16-C or NHB32-C. This depends upon their production timing.
  • Units whose serial number (found on the rear panel) start with the following letters* cannot switch latency. Units with other serial numbers can normally switch to low latency without firmware update.

    * IO, IP, IX, IY, IZ, JH, JI, JJ, JK

Difference in behaviour due to various version combinations of ACU16-C, NHB32-C, and CobraNet module

  • The latency sometimes cannot be switched due to different version combinations, as the CobraNet module must be a compatible version with the ACU16-C and NHB32-C firmware. If the latency cannot be switched, then check the version combination and the behaviour in the following table.
  • Please use the latest version of CobraNet Discovery in upgrading CobraNet Module (CM-1) firmware. Cobranet Discovery can be downloaded from the following URL.

Behavior when
latency is switched
V1.01 V2.8.8 NetworkAmp Manager is working at 5.33ms without any change though it looks as if it is set. It does not show error messages, etc. Choose 5.33ms to operate it.

V2.9.8
V2.9.16
V2.21.16
V1.10
V1.11
V2.8.8 The latency can be set only to 5.33ms. An applicable ACU16-C or NHB32-C shows an error message, "An error has occurred! Skip this device or abort?" if users try to execute "Connect & send to network" to set latency to other than 5.33ms. Choose 5.33ms to operate it.

V2.9.8
V2.9.16
V2.21.16
Users can switch the latency normally.

Fixed Bugs

  • Fixed a bug that the communication between a PC and a power amplifier goes offline if the communication breaks down between the ACU and another ACU or NHB (caused by the CobraNet cable being pulled out, or the HUB being turned off for example).
  • Fixed a problem that communication between NHB and other NHB/ACUs goes offline if the NHB's word clock is not set to "NETWORK" and it becomes unlocked.
