Yamaha takes Twenty Four club to the next level

May, 2010

Located less than an hour’s drive from the centre of Rome, 24 Twenty Four is one of Italy’s coolest nightclubs. Recently the venue upgraded its technical specification with the addition of a Yamaha DME series digital mixing engine, adding tremendous flexibility to the club’s audio systems.

The 2000-capacity club is located in the provincial town of Latina and covers a huge 2400m2, divided into three separate areas. Featuring performances by nationally and internationally renowned DJs, theme parties and special guest appearances, the club attracts people from a wide area to enjoy its unique mix of house, 70s, 80s and Latin American music.

Seeking to constantly improve, regularly upgrading its facilities, the latest changes have included the installation of a Yamaha DME24N and MY8-ADDA96 interface card to radically overhaul the entire venue’s audio control.

Specified and installed by Pozzuoli-based GR Elettronica, the DME allows the club owners to monitor and control the independent sound systems in the three separate zones from a central point.

“The DME has made a major improvement to 24 Twenty Four’s audio systems,” says GR Elettronica’s Ciro Piediferro. “It has given the club total control, but the onboard processing has also improved the audio quality to a level that it has never previously enjoyed.”

He continues, “The system is programmed to be very easy to use and means it is a lot simpler for staff to optimise the system for the different styles of music played in each room and on different theme nights. It has really taken 24 Twenty Four to the next level. Its owners are so pleased that they have asked us to carry out further significant upgrades to the club’s entire technical infrastructure.”

As well as the audio and control improvements, the DME control software has also helped 24 Twenty Four to appeal to guest DJ’s more basic instincts, as happened when French DJ Bob Sinclar performed at the venue on 1st May.

“DJs generally like to see themselves everywhere, so I pimped the control panel in ‘Sinclar-style’ to let 24 Twenty Four make the best impression on Mr. Sinclar during his inspection of the venue, a couple of hours before the performance,” smiles Yamaha Music Italia’s Wouter Verkuijl. “His set was very well received, so perhaps it helped?”
