Lecture Hall & Classroom Complex

System Features

  • In this system the main lecture hall (Room A) and six smaller lecture rooms (Rooms B ~ G) are connected via a CobraNet network allowing audio sharing between them. The center of the network is a Yamaha digital mixing engine.
  • In addition to handling audio input and output for the rooms in which they are located, the DME64N and DME4io-C units provide CobraNet network communication with the other rooms as well. A lecture taking place in Room A can be auditioned in Rooms B through G, and bidirectional communication means that questions and answers can be passed back and forth as well.
  • Room A includes a TV conferencing system that allows lectures to be shared with remote locations.
  • An MY4-AEC Acoustic Echo Canceller expansion card can be installed in a DME64N expansion slot for effective suppression of echo, ambient noise, and feedback.
  • A touch panel control system in room A allows smooth, intuitive sound system operation. In addition to sound system control, the touch panel system can be customized to control video, screen positioning, curtains, lighting, and a multitude of other functions.
  • All rooms feature wall-mounted CP4SF control panels for convenient volume control and preset selection.
  • Equalizers, speaker processors, and a multitude of other audio components that can be configured and combined via a computer application give the DME series the flexibility and scalability to deliver optimum functionality and performance in an extremely wide range of applications.
  • DME series signal processing routing is all handled by software in the form of “virtual wiring,” so running changes and post-installation system expansion can be easily implemented without the need to install additional equipment or wiring.
  • The DME series scene memory can store up to 999 complete setups that can be instantly recalled whenever needed, making it easy to switch setups for a variety of applications.
  • Since the DME series speaker processor component features processing data for Yamaha speaker systems built in, it’s easy to achieve optimum sound and matching while protecting the speakers against overload damage.
  • The DME series delay component can be used to precisely compensate for distance delay between speakers for clear, well-defined sound. Proper delay compensation also makes it possible to achieve optimum sound quality and imaging without having to use excessive volume levels.

Installation and Administration Features

  • Audio communication between rooms A through G is handled by a CobraNet network via CAT5e cabling that reduces the amount of cabling required while preventing signal degradation during transmission. Cost for changes and repairs to the cabling infrastructure is reduced as well.
  • The dedicated brackets supplied with VXS5 speakers can be used for convenient wall or ceiling mounting. A temporary attachment feature allows the installer to quickly position the bracket and then use both hands to safely and securely do the final installation.
  • The VXC6W has a temporary “Anti-Drop tab” attachment feature that allows the installer to quickly position the mount bracket and then use both hands to safely do the final installation.
  • The XMV4140 power amplifier can be set up to handle low and high impedance loads in 2-channel groups, so a single unit can drive both the low and high impedance speakers in rooms B through G.
