Counterfeit products made to resemble Yamaha products.

Counterfeit products have been identified which are made to resemble Yamaha products which are actually being sold. When compared with an authentic product, this type of counterfeit product is different in a variety of areas. Here we introduce ways to distinguish between authentic products and counterfeit products.

First, check the following as key points for determining if the product is a counterfeit.

Counterfeit products will not necessarily correspond to all of the following points. Be cautious if even one of the following points applies.

  • A warranty card is not attached.
An authentic product will always come with a warranty card, but in some cases a counterfeit product will not come with a warranty card. Please note that the warranty card of some authentic products is printed in the instruction manual.
  • It is cheaper than an authentic product.
Be cautious if the price is significantly lower than an authentic product.
  • It is much heavier than an authentic product.
In the case of a power amplifier, a counterfeit product is often heavier than an authentic product because the components and structure are different.
