Gand Concert Sound Provides Yamaha PM5D-RH for Final Show at Buddy Guy’s Original ‘Legend’s’ Club

June, 2010

The original ‘Legend’s’ club is celebrating 20 years in business and is hosting a final show before the new facility opens.

Chicago, Ill.—Gand Concert Sound (GCS) of Glenview, IL provided a Yamaha PM5D-RH digital console for the ‘last big show’ at Buddy Guy’s original Legend’s Club in Chicago. The club, is celebrating 20 years in business, is owned by the five-time GRAMMY® winning guitarist.

The event was a private party with headliner: the Dave Mason Band. The ‘last big show’ opened with Chicago blues guitar royalty Ronnie Baker Brooks, son of recent Blues Hall of Fame inductee Lonnie Brooks.

Gand also provided a 40 x 8 onstage monitor mix, splitter snake, GCS subwoofers and mic package as well as extensive back line for both bands. “We have been working on Buddy's new club, up the block, and wanted to take care of patrons at the final show to give them a taste of what to expect in the new facility,” said event crew chief and Gand Concert Sound President, Gary Gand. The club is scheduled to open in time for the Chicago Blues Fest and Eric Clapton's Crossroads Festival this month. The new Legend’s is equipped with NEXO R2 speakers and NEXO 4X4 amps.

“Gary Gand is the man, and it’s always a good night when GCS is on the job,” states long time Mason front of house engineer Chris Curtis. “Can’t wait to get back and play the new club.” Curtis carries Mason's mix on a card for instant recall on the Yamaha PM5D-RH.
