    • Dutch Pop Orchestra Uses NEXO Alpha at Detroit Music Hall

      Guido’s Orchestra, a talented pop orchestra from Holland, has taken the Netherlands by storm and now has the U.S. in its sights. With a recent two–week tour, the Orchestra led by violinist Guido Dieteren features talented young musicians and a spectacular stage show. They have performed with the likes of Lionel Richie, Elvis Costello, and Andrea Bocelli, to name a few.

      J Sound Services Specifies Yamaha and EtherSound for Ovation-Produced Event

      J Sound Services of Nashville recently designed a complete audio system for event planner Ovation, hired by the National Wild Turkey Federation for a corporate event featuring a concert by Trace Atkins, The Band Perry, and several other musical acts. Held at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel Delta Ballroom, the audio system design was based around a Yamaha PM5D-EX as the main mixing system, EtherSound, and Yamaha ES devices to distribute audio.

      Sound Works Productions Purchases NEXO System

      Sound Works Productions, Inc. of Frankfort, Illinois recently purchased a NEXO GEO S12 line array system, RS18s and NXAmp 4x4s for their rental inventory. The company, who has been providing sound reinforcement services for five years, determined that a NEXO system was a valuable addition to their audio artillery.

      OverTone Over the Top with Yamaha LS9 Digital Audio Console

      OverTone is a group of seven young a'cappella performers hailing from South Africa. Their recent success includes nine songs performed for the Oscar–nominated film Invictus, directed by Clint Eastwood, who with his wife discovered the band on a trip to South Africa. They have performed as guest artists for the GRAMMY®–winning One Republic and have toured with Platinum selling artist Corrine Bailey Rae, to name a few.

      Le Mobile's Fly Pak System and Yamaha Play Role at Coachella

      This year's Coachella Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California may now be over, but the success of Le Mobile Remote Recording Studios and its Fly Pak System that includes a Yamaha DM2000 console lingers on. Le Fly Pak was used for mixing the live webcast at the Mojave Stage.

      DeYoung ‘Sails Away’ at Wrigley Field with Support by Gand, Yamaha, and NEXO

      Founding member and lead vocalist for the band Styx and now out on his own for the past ten years, Dennis DeYoung recently performed a private show at Wrigley Field in Chicago for approximately 500 guests. Thanks to the sound production efforts of Gand Concert Sound (aka the ‘NEXO Guys’) who provided 16 NEXO GEO S8 speaker boxes and two Yamaha PM5D–RH digital audio consoles, the private event went off without a hitch.

      ACIR Pro Supports Bennett’s 85th Birthday Bash at The Met With Yamaha PM5D–EX System

      A Yamaha PM5D–EX was the console of choice for long–time Bennett front of house engineer, Tom Young. Young, whose rider preference is a PM5D, said the 5D–EX DSP5D expander was used as the primary snake with its ease of running a Cat5 cable due to space limitations for a traditional copper snake in the venue. The Met, a long–established opera house, has minimal need for amplified sound.

      University of the Cumberlands Upgrades With Yamaha Installation Series Speakers

      The University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky is a private liberal arts institution founded in 1888. With an enrollment of 3,300 students, the school is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Church. Recently, Knight Audio of Louisville was hired by the University to complete an audio upgrade consisting of a Yamaha Installation Series Speaker System for the O. Wayne Rollins Center, the school’s gymnasium/auditorium.

      Dante Technology Graduates to Millikin University with Yamaha DM2000

      Recently, the school decided it was time for a new recording facility and Dean thought it was time to start thinking about the digital recording side of the industry.       Yamaha StageMix for Viper Alley

      Yamaha Stagemix software for the M7CL iPad® app was recently installed into Chicago concert venue Viper Alley. Located in Lincolnshire, Illinois, the venue is the brainchild of Scott Greenberg, creator of the Wit, Chicago's hippest boutique hotel. Viper Alley opened in early March with American Idol winner Lee DeWyze performing for two hundred online raffle ticket winners. The club also features a complete NEXO sound system.

      The church began its history in 1920 with a congregation of 12, and now, three campuses later, has grown to a congregation of over 25,000.       The Living Christmas Tree at Grace Bible Church in Oxnard, California recently added a Yamaha LS9–32 digital audio console to enhance its six annual performances. The church, built in 1970, began The Living Christmas Tree program in 1973. Housed in a tree–like structure designed and built by several church members, the set can hold over 70 singers.

      Audio Inc. Restores Vaudeville Theatre to Golden Age with Yamaha and NEXO

      Audio Incorporated was recently hired for a complete redo of the monumental landmark consisting of a new NEXO and Yamaha audio system. “We had installed the theatre’s last sound system about 15 years ago, and all the equipment still functions to this day,” states Mike Sinclair, VP/Owner, Audio Incorporated. “The client was in receipt of additional funding and decided to update the sound system to current technology, so they came back to us to design/Install a new system.”

      Le Mobile’s Le Fly–Pak Captures Mary J. Blige UNSTAGED Performance

      Alfred “AL–Tee” Williams has worked as a front of house and monitor engineer with artists such as Kool and the Gang, The SOS Band, Tank, Rachelle Farrell, Angie Stone, Fantasia, and currently with R&B artist Jay Sean.
