      Sound Works Productions Celebrates NYE in Style With NEXO and Yamaha

      Red Bull Crashed Ice Event Supported By EDGE ShowTek

      As the sport continues to grow in popularity with U.S. fans, ice cross downhill continued its residency again this year in the 'state of hockey' with a fourth visit to the capital of Minnesota. For the past three winters, Saint Paul has hosted the Red Bull Cashed Ice Downhill Competition with a crowd of more than 140,000 converging on the Cathedral of Saint Paul to witness the high-speed action featuring skaters competing in a four-man heats race to the bottom of a quarter-mile long track full of obstacles.

      Yamaha Adds New Open Architecture Signal Processor To CIS Product Line

      Iowa HS Gym Gets Overhaul From J Sound Services With Yamaha CIS

      Church Installs First U.S. HOW NEXO STM Line Array System, Joined By Two Yamaha CL5s

      Each week, Overlake Christian Church (OCC) in Redmond WA is filled with a variety of events as well as Christian services. The 5,000-seat sanctuary has been in operation for close to 20 years with an average weekly attendance of 3,500. With the largest seating capacity of any church facility in the Seattle Metro Area, OCC recently installed a new NEXO STM line array system; the first to be installed in a house of worship in the U.S. STM replaces the existing system that was installed in the church when originally opened. The system design and installation was performed by Morgan Sound (Lynnwood, WA) following a comprehensive study of the acoustical space and available rigging points.

      REACH Chooses NEXO and Yamaha for Edina, MN Church

      During the summer of 1955, a small group of Edina residents discussed the need for a local Presbyterian church. Initially, they met in homes and planned the first worship service. In1956, groundbreaking ceremonies took place when the congregation numbered 283. Now, nearly 60 years after the formation, under current Sr. Pastor John Crosby, the membership of Christ Presbyterian Church has swelled to more than 5,000.       NNU Installs NEXO GEO M6 in Swayne Auditorium

      Northwest Nazarene University (NNU) in Nampa, Idaho is a nonprofit Christian university offering over 60 areas of study for undergraduate and graduate students. The Brandt Center’s 1500-seat Swayne Auditorium is used primarily for University events, including multiple chapels per week, and university performing arts concerts (choir, orchestra, band, theater). The theater department produces multiple audition-based musicals per year.       Yamaha CL/QL V3.1 and StageMix 5.1 Now Available

      Yamaha Corporation Japan has announced that firmware update Version 3.1 is now available for the CL and QL Series Digital Mixing Consoles, adding a number of new features including control of the RSio64-D, or “bento box”, which serves as a bridge between a Dante network and the MY-card format. Updates are also available for the StageMix application for iPad, R Remote application, and Console File Converter application that provide broad data compatibility between Yamaha digital mixing consoles. All of these significantly enhance the convenience and operability of the CL and QL Series Consoles.

      The Yamaha MRX7-D Commercial Installation Solutions (CIS) open architecture processor has been awarded the S&VC 2015 Innovative Product Award. The magazine’s editor, Cynthia Weishart, announced the award November 9. The MRX7-D is part of the CIS Series and includes MTX processors, VXC and VXC F ceiling speakers, VXS speakers, XMV amplifiers, MA 2030 mixer amplifier and PA2030 power amplifier.

      Firehouse 'Eases on Down The Road' with Yamaha CL Digital Audio Consoles

      For the third year in a row, Firehouse Productions (NY) has provided audio production for the NBC December live events of The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, and this year, The Wiz. With a celebrity-heavy ensemble, including Queen Latifah (the Wiz), Mary J. Blige (the Wicked Witch of the West), Uzo Aduba (Good Witch Glinda), Common (Emerald City’s gatekeeper), Ne Yo as the Tin Man, Elijah Kelley as the Scarecrow, and David Alan Grier (the Cowardly Lion), this year’s production again included three CL5 Digital Audio Consoles, each utilizing two Rio3224-D input/output racks.
